And the Winners Are…

Sunday, June 7th, 2009

Remember the book giveaway contest that I had here on the site a few weeks ago? Well, drawing the winners has been long overdue! But when I saw the opportunity to travel to San Francisco and meet Tara Hunt, I thought I'd get a few autographed copies straight from the author.

So here we go…

What I'm going to need from the winners is a mailing address; you can send it here: ribeezie(at)gmail(dot)com

If you've read the book, did you like it? What else are you reading?

Monthly Meetup

Monday, May 4th, 2009

Group Lunch Meeting
Some of the feedback I’ve been receiving from REBarCamp Los Angeles is that it might be beneficial to you to host a monthly meetup. Now, I’m not against doing something informal and in fact it’s something I’ve done before. So here’s the deal, consider this an open invitation to get together once a month, in an open, casual and fun learning environment for an hour or two at a time.

Here’s what we’ll do:
  • We’ll meetup at a coffee house once a month (any place that has wifi will work just fine)

Everyone will bring their own laptop and we’ll brainstorm for a few hours. Or,

  • We do something a little more casual and in the evening. Dinner, drinks, and IRL socializing!
  • We’ll talk about blogging (how to set up a blog, how to market a blog, etc.) and social networking and whatever other cool stuff strikes our fancy

And like I said, this isn’t anything formal by any means, it’s more of a discussion group or “mastermind group” if you will. Just a bunch of us getting together once a month, Barcamp style. So if this sounds like your kinda thing and you’re game…all you gotta do is fill out the form below:

You’ll only receive updates from me a week or two before our next meetup (nothing else).

Hey there…

Wednesday, April 29th, 2009

…welcome to Ribeezie.com!

Now that you’re here, you’re probably wondering what this blog is about (if the header hasn’t given it away already). So let me tell you…

Contained within the pages of this blog, we’re going to explore social media and the fine line between work and play. Blogs, social networks and all of these various web tools are fun and great but if you’re utilizing these various toolsets for your business marketing, then you’re probably more interested in how these toolsets can be lead to profitability (right?). You probably have questions like:
  • How do I use my blog to generate business?
  • What social networks should I participate in to increase awareness?
  • How do I utilize analytics to measure conversion rates?
  • How do I manage my time with it all? (Are there certain things I can automate or would you recommend against that?)

…and much, much more!

On this blog, you’ll find answers to some of these questions so hop on over, subscribe, and start reading. But I also give away some “super top secret” and really cool stuff via the newsletter (like announcements to new tele-clinics that I might be hosting like this one). To get in on the action there, all you gotta do is subscribe!

If video tutorials are helpful to you, you’ll find those here (though I’m sure I’ll be publishing them on the blog here as well). On occasion I might host a webinar (or two) for free… If I do, I’ll make an announcement to my newsletter subscribers first (perks to those who committed just a bit more of their time).

So who the heck am I and what do I do?

Well I’m Ricardo Bueno. The author of this site and Social Media Consultant with the Real Estate Tomato. We design websites for Real Estate Agents, Brokerages, Lenders, etc. and we’re pretty damn good at it too! Here’s a link to some of the stuff we’ve done for agents around the country: http://tinyurl.com/dzfxjb

In addition to design services, we coach agents through the adoption process of social media for their business marketing (we do this through webinars using GoToMeeting). For more on that you can visit what we like to call Tomato University

If you have questions on all that schnazzy good stuff, you can contact me at (323) 572-8322 or via email at ricardo@realestatetomato.com.

But wait there’s more!!…

I’m also pretty well known within Real Estate circles for speaking at different public and private events such as NAHREP’s (National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals) National Conference and for organizing REBarCamp Los Angeles (which turned out to be a mighty fine event if I do say so myself). You can visit my LinkedIn profile if you’d like the inside scoop on what others are saying about me or alternatively, you can visit my testimonials page here

If you’d like me to speak at your next real estate event, shoot me an email at: speaking@ricardobueno.com

Personal Brand Management in the Age of Google

Friday, March 6th, 2009

What's the first thing a prospective client or hiring manager does after they've met you? They go to Google to find more information (basically to get the dirt on you; if they can find any).

Here's what Seth Godin has to say on the subject

"Everything you do now ends up in your permanent record. The best plan is to overload Google with a long tail of good stuff and to always act as if you're on Candid Camera, because you are." — Seth Godin

How are you managing your reputation?

Picture 50
One of the easiest ways to manage what's being said about you, your product or your company is to set up a
Google Alert. You can sign up for as many alerts as you wish and you can also register to receive them as often as you'd like. For example, here are just a few of the ones that I've signed up for: Ribeezie, Ricardo Bueno, REBarcamp Los Angeles, Real Estate Tomato

Every time someone writes/mentions either of these, I get an email in my Inbox with a link to the article referencing that particular name/phrase. The first two I receive once a day whilst the second two I receive as they happen (sometimes more than a few times a day).

Why is this important?
Responsiveness counts! The simple fact is, people are talking about your product/service/company in all sorts of places around the web. The more responsive you are, the better off you will be. You'll empower your evangelists by showing them that you're listening and you might win over your nay-sayers by doing just the same (letting them know that your listening and that you care).

There are several other ways to "listen," this is just one of the easiest…

So…are you paying attention to what others around the web are saying about you? Do you take the time to respond or do you feel that it's a waste of time?

Speaking/Consulting Topics:

Listed below are a few questions on differing topics to get your thought process flowing. If you want Ricardo to speak at your next real estate technology event, please send email: speaking@ricardobueno.com or call (323) 572-8322.
  • Introduction to Blogging: what is blogging and how can it help me promote my business and/or market my service? How do I get started?
  • What Is Social Media: You’ve heard the terminology but don’t know what it means. Or you know what it means but don’t quite understand it’s direct application to business. We can talk about it one-on-one or I can present at your next staff meeting in an easy to understand and engaging format so that you can determine whether or not you’re ready to transition your business marketing into the world of web 2.0.
  • Social Media Marketing Strategy:  you either have a reputation that precedes you in which case you’ve broken down all barriers to the sales process and it’s easier for you to close clients, or you have no brand image and you have to start from ground zero. How do you begin to use social media? What tools are right for you? What are your specific goals?
  • Social Networking Strategy: you don’t need ALL the tools, you just need the right ones! You start by defining what you want/need to accomplish. Then, yo uhave to find what tools are right “for the job.” With so little time and so many tools, what do you do?
  • Brand Reputation Management: What are you doing to listen to what others are saying about you and your company? Better yet, are you being responsive? Remember, listening alone is sterile.
  • Lead Generation: How do you use your blog as a lead generation tool? How do you utilize analytics tools to gauge performance? How do you track your efforts to lead generation? How do you invoke consumer interaction via “Calls to Action?”
Speaking Experience:

In addition to speaking at several Real Estate Offices and Social Media luncheons, Ricardo Bueno has been a featured speaker at the…
